On December 17, 2021, typhoon Rai hit Palawan, the Philippines with tremendous force. The storm caused widespread damage across the region, damaging homes and destroying critical infrastructure. Close to half a million people were left homeless in the wake of the storm. In the following months, the people of Palawan were again hit with another devastating storm - this time in the form of typhoon Odette. With high winds and torrential rains, Odette caused severe flooding across the region, leaving many people without a home or access to food. In addition to widespread damage to property and a lack of necessities for survival, many residents were also dealing with severe trauma following these two devastating storms. Despite these struggles, however, the people of Palawan remain strong and resilient. Despite the immense difficulties they have faced in recent months, they continue to work tirelessly to rebuild their communities and help their neighbors in need. Through grit and determination, they will overcome these difficult times and restore their homes and lives to normalcy.

Purpose
